Eating wrong is bad for health; speaking wrong is bad for self, when one becomes committed, or make a fool of himself.
We should recall the former Minister of Religious Affairs in SLORC regime, a big mouth orater, praising the noble role of the soldiers so much so that as if they deserve worshipping like the Buddhist Triple Gem or Holy Trinity. It was six months after the 8888 uprising where over 3000 protesting unarmed civilians were killed by the military. He was sacked soon after, probably for talking too much.
The World knows how our Burmese generals have been soliciting China for its help and protection, with generous offer of gas sales, and strategic previleges, just to maintain their military rule with a despot. The truth about what happened during Cyclone Nargis was seen by the World, different from what was published in government mouthpiece media. It is easier to find fault in others' than finding one's own failings.
For a responsible speaker it requires integrity, truthfulness and appropriate occasion to win the heart and mind of listeners. Soldiers who want to play with politics, as they are doing now, should learn how to speak. That is the way they can make people believe what they say. People are not soldiers who will follow orders without thinking. So, it is very important in making a public speech. One false statement can make a speaker, of all level, a laughing stock, and make himself a fool.
It is better not to speak at all than speaking falsehood.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18269316066346184637noreply@blogger.com
